Government refuses to share Renters’ Rights Bill court assessment
The government has refused to release a key piece of evidence on the impact of the Renters’ Rights Bill just weeks before it could be signed into law.
Last week we attended the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Private Rented Sector, which discussed the proposed Private Rented Sector Ombudsman, how it will interact with existing agency redress schemes, and the redress gaps for tenants.
We are also continuing our work in Scotland and look forward to meeting several MSPs in the Scottish Parliament over the coming weeks. On our agenda are sector concerns around EPCs and new energy efficiency measures; rent controls; and the upcoming Housing Bill. We look forward to sharing updates from the outcomes of our meetings in due course.
