Every branch of every Leaders Romans Group brand nationwide, more than 245 locations in total, will now act as a food bank collection point. The Group is also planning to hold a series of fundraising events in aid of the charity.
Demand for food banks went up during the COVID-19 pandemic and has continued to climb since – alongside the rising cost of living. Between April and September last year, the Trussell Trust distributed a record 1.3 million food parcels, and warned that donations weren’t keeping up with need.
Letting agents and landlords often work closely with people in poverty, and Leaders Romans Group isn’t the only lettings business supporting food banks. Property industry charity Agents Giving holds regular appeals in aid of the Trussell Trust and other food banks, and other franchises and independent agencies have also launched their own fundraising campaigns.
